Steve Riboli contacted Charles about preparing landscape plans for his family’s winery in Downtown Los Angeles after working with him on the Campus Village commercial development project in Pasadena.  For the San Antonio Winery, Charles and his client favored the classical approach of landscaping with a low maintenance Mediterranean palette that would reflect the winery's Italian heritage. The result is a hearty Tuscan styled landscape that is anchored with rosemary and myrtle and elegantly accented with a verity of roses. Existing and introduced olive, camphor, and sycamore trees add to the Tuscan flavor while providing much needed shade from the Southern California sun. Upon entering the newly designed gated entry, guests are invited to leave the buzzing industry of Downtown Los Angeles behind them and transition into the fine dining and wine tasting experience that awaits them inside.
