California Park & Recreation Society’s (CPRS)- 2007 Facility & Park Design Award for Extreme Sports

The Belvedere Skatepark is the first in-ground skatepark developed by the Los Angeles County Dept. of Parks and Recreation and is one of the latest in a series of skateparks that Charles designed. Much like a sculptor will work out an aesthetic detail over several commissions, Charles’ design of the Belvedere Skatepark took him a major step closer to the perfect blending of technical street terrain with the organic fluidity of a swimming pool or vert style skatepark. The design speaks for itself as the Belvedere Skatepark has become the number one destination in the region for skaters of all levels.
